The Phil Freelon Professional Design Awards are now open!
Presented annually by NOMA, these awards honor the legacy of Phil Freelon by recognizing outstanding work that demonstrates design excellence, innovation, and positive impact in the built environment. The program celebrates projects that advance the profession and reflect the talent, leadership, and vision of NOMA members.
Architects, designers, and firms are invited to submit projects that showcase thoughtful design and meaningful contributions to communities. Award recipients will be recognized during the 2026 NOMA Conference | The Leading Edge, October 14-18, in South Florida.

Last year, the Windsor Chavis Nocho Community Complex in Greensboro, North Carolina received the Honor Award in the Unbuilt Work category. Designed by Vines Architecture, Inc. and EVOKE Studio Architecture, the project reflects the power of community-centered design and the impact architecture can have beyond the built environment.
